Saturday, October 31, 2020 am. Sunrise: 7:47 am. Hunting opens: 7:17 am. Temperature 31 degrees. Mostly sunny. Wind: S-SW 15-20 mph. Halloween. Full moon. Autumnal equinox. Game on. Kyle is here. He decided to go to the muddy ladder stand. I went to the VAT ladder. As I was getting set up, a deer came into the food plot from the NW. It saw me and ran off to the west. I was ready to go by 7:00 am. At 9:00 am, I had 2 does come across the hillside going from east to west about 75 yards away. Both bedded down on the trail to the south of me. Unfortunately, I had to get down at 9:45 am. to watch Charley. I was able to sneak out without spooking the does. Totals: Bob 3 deer. 3 does.

Sunday, October 25, 2020 pm Sunset 6:10 pm Hunting closes 6:40 pm Temperature 26 degrees. Mostly cloudy. Snowing. Wind: N- NE 5-8 mph. Tonight, I decided to head to the dump stand. I brought my heater body suit so I could stay warm and dry. I was ready to go by 3:45. I don’t think I bumped any deer on my way in. At 6:00 pm, I looked over my shoulder to the west and there were 2 small fawns in the VAT food plot. Then more kept piling in. There were a total of 6 at one time. They all kind of walked off. Two to the north and 4 to the south. If I had sat in the VAT, I would have have some shooting. I was hoping they would circle around to the south of me, but they never came through. Totals. Bob - 6 deer. 6 does and fawns.

Saturday, October 24, 2020 pm Sunset 6:11 pm Hunting closes 6:41 pm Temperature 28 degrees. Mostly cloudy. Wind: N- NE 3-5 mph. Tonight, I decided to give the ladder stand a shot. We have had a few nicer bucks on camera, but none during shooting light. I figured I would do some calling and hope this good weather will get them up on their feet earlier. As t 4:05 pm, I looked to the south and there were 6 Tom turkeys walking along the edge of the field going from east to west. I then looked straight to the south of me and saw a small basket rack 8 pointed checking out a scrape on the edge of the field. He slowly followed the same path as the turkeys. Starting at 6:00 pm, I started having action. There were 2 small bucks bedded about 80 yards to the SW of me. Slowly over the next 20 minutes I saw 4 does and fawns and a nubbin buck with spikes all come through from north to south all 60-80 yards away. Totals: Bob - 3 bucks and 5 does.

Saturday, October 24, 2020 am. Sunrise: 7:37 am. Hunting opens: 7:07 am. Temperature 19 degrees. Mostly sunny. Wind: W- NW 0-2 mph. We got about 8” of snow on Monday. A lot of it has melted, but there is still 4”+ of hard crunchy snow on the ground. I was planning on going to Arlie’s food plot, but the bracket at the base of the stand had broken and needed to be fixed. I made the quick decision to head over to Spaghetti Junction. I was ready to go by 7:00 am. At 7:40 am, I had a nice 2 1/2-3 1/2 year old 8 pointer come through from the south heading to the north about 35 yards to the east of me. At 8:55 am, I saw a deer cruising about 100 yards to the SE of me. I couldn’t tell what it was, but it was a big deer. That was it. Totals: Bob 2 deer. 1 buck and one ?

I decided to head back to Mike’s gun stand off of 3rd point I was ready to go by 6:30 am. I am only going to be able to sit until 8:45 am, as we need to get back to Cannon Falls for Charley’s soccer game. Nothing to report. Totals: Bob - 0 deer.

It is starting to feel like fall. I was up early and ready to go. I decided to go to the QDM stand hoping to see the 3 headed monster. Nothing. Totals: Bob - 0 deer

Sunday, September 27, 2020 pm Sunset 6:59 pm Hunting closes 7:29pm Temperature 59 degrees. Mostly cloudy. Wind: NW/W 10-15 mph. Tonight, I decided to head back to the ladder stand. The a Packers play on Sunday Night Football and I wanted to be able to get back to the house as quickly as possible. That, and it was a terrible wind for the Apple Tree. I was ready to go by 5:00 pm. At 6:35 pm, I had a big doe and fawn come through going from east to west about 25 yards to the north of me. It happened so fast, that I never wasn’t even able to grab my bow. They ended up circling behind me to the west and then walked off to the south. At 6:50 pm, I heard something walking to the NE. A nice 2 1/2 year old 7 pointer stepped out. He cdd as me through going from North to South 22 yards to the east of me. Too small. He needs at least one more year. Still fun to see. He ended up heading off to the east. Totals Bob - 3 deer. 1 buck and 2 does.
