Friday, September 20, 2019 am

Friday, September 20, 2019 am. Sunrise: 6:55 am. Hunting opens: 6:25 am. Temperature 63 degrees. Humid. Mostly cloudy. Wind: E-SE 2-3 mph.  Kyle drove down yesterday afternoon to hunt. He saw a few deer last night from the Muddy Food  plot ladder stand, but nothing was close. This morning, he went to Pisa and I went back to the Apple Tree stand. At 6:55 am, I saw a small buck in the valley to the east of the Stump blind along the edge of the corn. He ended up in the small patch of woods between the stump and muddy blinds. Two minutes later, Kyle texted and said that he had just shot a doe. We decided to sit until 9:00 am in order to give her plenty of time to expire. At 7:50 am, I looked over towards the Muddy food plot and there was a nice and wide but not very tall 8-10 pointer. I am guessing a 2 1/2 year old buck. He walked on the east side of the food plot and walked off to the NE. That was it. At 9:00 am, I got down and walked over to check on Kyle. On my way to the stand I saw good blood on the ground and I found his arrow. Kyle got down and after a short trail, we found his first bow kill. Congrats man. Bob- 2 deer. 2 bucks.

Sunday, September 15, 2019 am. Sunrise: 6:50 am. Hunting opens: 6:20 am. Temperature 58 degrees. Mostly sunny. Wind: W-NW 2-3 mph. After seeing some nice bucks on camera, I decided to head back to the Apple Tree. Adam drove down this morning an he saw the big tall 8 pointer in the neighbors field so he decided to head to Pisa. At 6:55 am, I looked over and saw a doe in the corn to the east of the Stump blind. I sat until 9:00 am, and that was it. I did pull the SD card from the Apple Tree camera and the big 9 pointer had walked past the stand the night before at 7:40 pm with plenty of shooting light left. Had I been there, my season would have been over. Totals: Bob 1 deer, 1 doe.

Saturday, September 14, 2019 am. Sunrise: 6:49 am. Hunting opens: 6:19 am. Temperature 48 degrees. Mostly sunny. Wind: S 5 mph. Opening morning! After a good nights sleep, I decided to head out to the Apple tree stand. Dwayne came down this morning and decided to go to the VAT 3.0. At 6:30 am, I heard a deer blowing a warning call to the north of me near Arlie’s food plot. At 7:19 am, a saw a big doe and a fawn was through the Muddy food plot and head to the east. Good to have some action. At 7:30 am, I had a big doe sneak down the road to the south of me. She got to 10 yards away, but I couldn’t get turned and there was a limb covering her vitals. She walked back up the the SW. At 7:45 am, I looked to the NW and saw a doe and small buck walking to the north through the brush. I then looked to the SE and there was a doe heading towards the Muddy food plot. At 7:50 am, I saw 2 more does in the Stump foot plot to the SE of me. At 8:10 am, I saw a small 8 pointer over in the Muddy food plot. He came in from the south and walked off towards the east. That was it. I sat until 9:15 am. Totals: 9 deer. 2 bucks. No shooters.
