Friday, November 4, 2022 am Sunrise 7:50 am. Hunting opens at 7:20 am. Temperature 52 degrees. Wind: N 5-10 mph. Mostly cloudy. Light rain at times. I decided to get out for a hunt this morning. I wanted to give the Arlie’s Food plot stand a try. The ground was pretty damp from the rains overnight, so it was pretty easy getting to the stand quietly. At 7:35 am, a small 4 pointer came into the food plot from the north about 60 yards away. He cruised through and headed off to the east. At 8:20 am, I saw a small doe with a nice 2 1/2-3 1/2 year old 8-10 pointer following a doe about 100 yards to the west of me traveling from north to south. They had to travel close to Arlie’s Knob stand. At 9:10 am, I had a nice doe on the trail 30 yards to the SW of me. Instead of coming down the trail into the food plot. She headed up the the west. At 9:25 am, I was getting kind of chilly, so I grabbed a fleece out of my bag. I ended up spooking a doe that was 75 yards to the east of me up the hill to the east. Sat until 11:00 am. Totals: 5 deer. 3 does and 2 bucks.

Thursday, November 3, 2022 pm Sunset 6:00 pm Hunting closes at 6:30 pm Temperature 59 degrees. Wind: S 15-20 mph. Partly cloudy. Windy. I got out this evening and I decided to head to Dump stand. I was in and ready to go by 3:00 pm. We will see. At 4:40 pm, I looked up to the east and there was a nice 2 1/2 year old 8 coming towards me. He passed by at 10 yards going east to west. He needs another year. That was it. Totals: 1 deer. 1 buck.

tThursday, November 3, 2022 am Sunrise 7:53 am. Hunting opens at 7:23 am. Temperature 52 degrees. Wind: N 15-20 mph. Mostly sunny. I decided to get out for a hunt this morning. I wanted to give the Arlie’s Knob stand a try. At 7:40 am, I saw a small buck going down the ridge from west to east about 100 yards away. At 9:15 am, I looked to the NW and there was a small 8 pointer about 40 yards away. He ended up crossing the fence and heading off to the NE. I sat until 10:40 am. That was it. Totals: 2 deer, 2 small bucks.

Wednesday, November 2, 2022 pm Sunset 6:01 pm Hunting closes at 6:31 pm Temperature 67degrees. Wind: S 15-20 mph. Partly cloudy. Windy. I got out this evening and I decided to head to Arlie’s Food Plot stand. I was in and ready to go by 3:15 pm. A little warm, but bucks should be on the move. At 5:50 pm, I looked over to the NE and there was a small doe about 75 yards away. She headed over to the SE. Right as I was about to get down, I had a nice doe come in from the east about 40 yards away, she must have seen me packing up and she left without spooking. Totals: Bob 2 deer. 2 does.

Tuesday, November 2, 2022 pm Sunrise 7:54 am. Hunting opens at 7:24 am. Temperature 52 degrees. Wind: N 10-15 mph. Mostly sunny. I decided to get out for a hunt this morning. I wanted to give the new Fish Bowl stand a try. I was ready to go by 7:00 am. At 7:50 am, I had a nice 2 1/2 year old 8 pointer come down the hill going from west to east about 80 yards to the north of me. At 8:05 am, I had 2 small 1 1/2 year old 6 and 8 point bucks come through going from east to west about 75 yards to the south of me walking along the ridge. They both walked about 20 yards away from Arlie’s knob stand. That was it. I headed in around 10:00 am. Totals: Bob 3 deer. 3 bucks.

Monday, November 1, 2022 pm Sunset 6:02 pm Hunting closes at 6:32 pm Temperature 62 degrees. Wind: S 5-7 mph. Mostly sunny. I got out this evening and I decided to head to Arlie’s Food Plot stand. I was in and ready to go by 3:15 pm. A little warm, but bucks should be on the move. At 4:50 pm , I had a nice 2 1/2-3 1/2 year old 8 pointer come down off the hill to the NW of me. He came through the food plot about 60 yards to the north of me. He headed off to the east. At 5:05 pm, I looked to the east and there were 2 does being chased by a small 1 1/2 year old 6 pointer. They were about 75 yards away and in the brush. At 5:10 pm, I saw a trail trotting up the hill to the east of me. At 5:40 pm, I had 3 does getting chased by a small 8 pointer to the east of me. At 5:50 pm, I had a does come in from the south, 50 yards to the east of me heading north. She walked into the food plot and fed for 15 minutes at about 35 yards. She was on high alert and ended up blowing and headed off to the east. That was it. Totals: 8 deer. 4 does, 3 bucks and one tail.

Sunday, October 30, 2022 pm Sunset 6:04 pm Hunting closes at 6:34 pm Temperature 62 degrees. Wind: N 0-2 mph. Mostly sunny. It has been more than a month and I am finally out again. I decided to give Arlie’s food plot a try. Charley had hockey, so I didn’t get into the stand until 4:40 pm. Hopefully a short, but productive hunt. We will see. Nothing. Totals: 0 deer

This is the same stand we killed a big doe in last fall. I hope we have the same luck tonight. Nothing. Totals: 0 deer

Saturday, September 17, 2022 pm Sunset 7:14 pm Hunting closes at 7:44 pm Temperature 76 degrees. Mostly sunny Wind: S-SE 7-10 mph. It was raining this morning, so I decided to sleep in. Heidi and I r both out tonight. I am in the ladder stand and Heidi is at the Apple Tree. Charley let Gertie out after we went out and she ended up follow Heidi down into the valley. I had to get down and call her back up to the house. The 2022 season has gotten off to a rough start. At 6:55 pm, I heard some mewing to the north of me and a small doe walked through about 5-6 yards from the base of my tree. At 7:00 pm, I had a nice big fat doe and 2 fawns come in from the south, but they went behind me. No shot opportunity. I did watch both of them take some mile from their mom. Cool to watch. At 7:20 pm, I had a small doe come in to the SE of me. She got to about 20 yards and turned and went south. Behind he was another doe that ended up circling around me to the NE. That was it. Totals: Bob 6 deer. All does and fawns.
