2 1/2 year old 9 pointer has found clover at VAT

Here are some photos of the nice 9 pointer (Heidi's target) for 2012.  We are still getting regular photos of him by the apple tree (see insert), but he is also a regular visitor to the VAT and our new clover plot.  One of the photos, you can see he has a mouthful of oats.  We are getting close.  Good luck to all this fall.  Buckslayer

New 9 Pointer @ 009

We have a new target.  He is a really nice 9 pointer that is going to be tough to pass up.  I am guessing he is a 3 1/2 year old.  He is definately a different 9 pointer then the one we have been seeing regularly.  I only have these two pictures of him, but he appears to have some decent tine length, especially with his G2's and G3's.  Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of him from straight on, so we don't know how wide he is.  Oh well, still nice to see.  Stay tuned for more action from the 009.  We are getting close.  Buckslayer Out!

Pagel's Hit List for 2012 at the 505 Farm

Here is my hit list from the 505 Farm.

#1 Buck
The Big 9
He is actually a 10 pointer, but I named him last year as a 9 pointer, so the name is going to stay.

#2 Buck
Sky Scraper
This guy is also a stud! He is just as tall as big 9 (if not taller) but is only an 8 pointer.

#3 Buck
Mr. Perfect
I was calling him the Doce buck but he is probably going to only stay a 10 this year.  His Spread is almost perfect, hence the name, Mr. Perfect.

#4 Buck
Wide Load
We haven't seen him for a while but he is a great buck with a very wide spread and 9 points, so he makes the list.

#5 Buck
Boner
Funny name for a funny looking buck.  He is not the biggest buck out there, but he does have some great character to him.  He would look great on the wall, so he makes the list.

This rounds out my list for the 2012 hit list.  I am pumped and cannot wait to sit in the stand waiting for one of these guys to walk by!

More August Bucks at the 505 Farm

Turning out to be a great crop this year at the 505. Here are a couple more bucks we have on camera.

Calling this guy "Crabby" for now. He may be a buck that we had on camera earlier this year, can't tell until we get the left side picture of him.

This guy on the right has a funky rack. He has a spear shooting straight out.

The "Doce" buck. I was hoping he would end up as a 12 but I think he only be a 10 this year.

Here is "Sky Scraper".  This guy is a stud!

We have less than a month until opener!  We still need to set up a few more stands, clear stands, and finalize our opening day spots here at the 505.  Lots to do in little time.

Nice little 8 Pointer

These are the first pictures that I have of this guy.  Again, not a target for me in 2012, but maybe for Heidi?  He should be really nice if he makes it to 2013.

9 pointer still around

Not a huge buck, buck nice potential for 2013.

"Flaccid"

I decided to name is guy "Flaccid."  The name speaks for itself.  His G2 on the right side is growing down.  Strange.  Not a shooter in 2012, but could be an interesting target in the coming years.  These are the first photos that I have of this buck.

8-16-12 VAT Food Plot

The food plot has been in for more than 3 weeks and is starting to take shape.  We have had quite a bit of rain over the past few days and it is really starting to green up.  We just need some hot and dry weather and it should really start to "sprout up."  Stay tuned for more from the 009 guys.  Buckslayer.

Decent 9 pointer- 2 1/2 year old

Attached are 3 photos of a decent 9 pointer.  I am guessing a 2 1/2 year old.  If he makes it till 2013, he will be really nice.  It may be tough for Heidi to pass on this guy though.  I think that he still needs another year.  I hope we starting getting some photos of some other potential targets.  A little more than a month till opener.  Stay tuned.  Buck Slayer out!

VAT Food Plot is in

We were able to get the VAT rebuilt using telephone poles on July 29, 2012.  Last week I was able to get the fall foliage in.  I went down today and it is already starting to come up.  I am very pleased that we have gotten the recent rains.  Now I need it to dry up so I can get in the Sugar Shack and Stump food plots planted.  I will post some pictures next week of the VAT food plots.  Stay Tuned.  Buckslayer

Minnesota Outdoor News - Cover

Pretty sweet.  I made the cover of MON.  See attached.  I took this beast up in Canada on a fly rod back in June.  Don was able to take this short video.  Enjoy

Big 9 last year.....

Big 9 this year!  He has turned into a 10 point stud! Bob guesses 140's, I am guessing 150's.  Let us know what you think!
