Saturday,September 27, 2025 pm Sunset 7:00 pm Hunting closes at 7:30 pm Temperature 78 degrees. Mostly sunny. Wind: N- NW 2-4 mph. I am back behind the barns at Copper for an evening sit. On my way in there was a big doe already in the plot having supper. She took off to the west. At 5:00 pm, I had a fawn spook behind me to the north of me she ran off to the east and up the hill to the NE. At 6:30 pm, I looked behind me to the north and there was a good buck 40 yards away. He ended up spooking back up to the north. It looked like it could have been a shooter. At 7:00 pm, I looked over and there was 4 does and 2 small bucks 3 pointer and a 6 pointer in the southern food plot. They sparred a little. They did come a little closer but they were in the brush 40 yards away. It got dark and Brian drove in a got them all to scatter so I could get down. Totals 8 deer, 3 bucks and 5 does.

After last night’s hunt, I decided to head back to the money stand behind the barns. I was ready to go by 6:20 am. We will see. I sat until 9:40 am. Nothing to report. Total: O deer

Friday September 26, 2025 pm Sunset 7:01 pm Hunting closes at 7:31 pm Temperature 78 degrees. Mostly sunny. Wind: N- NW 2-4 mph. I am back behind the barns at Copper for an evening sit. On my way in there were 2 does on the road to the north about 125 yards away. They watched me climb into the stand and they eventually took off to the north. At 5:30 pm, I had a nice big fat doe 50 yards to my SW. she smelled me, snorted and took off to the south. At 6:20 pm, I had a small 3 point buck came behind me from the NW. He came through at 15 yards, turned south and walked into the food plot. At 6:23 pm, a big doe came through, stopped and fed for 40 minutes about 25 yards to the north of me. She finally came into the food plot. I could have shot her at 12 yards. At 7:05, a nice tall, narrow 8 pointer came on the same trail. He was tempting, but I decided to pass. They both ended up spooking up to the east of me. I did have Brian drive in after dark to make sure there were not any more deer around, so I could sneak out. Totals: 4 deer, 2 bucks and 2 does.

Friday, September 26, 2025 am Sunrise: 6:55 am Hunting opens at 6:25 am. Temperature 51 degrees. Mostly sunny Wind: N- NE 0-2 mph. I decided to go to the new ladder stand up in mushroom valley. We hung it yesterday and we are calling it Dead On Arrival. “DOA”. I sat until 9:30 am. Nothing happening. Totals: 0 deer.

Thursday, September 25, 2025 pm Sunset 7:02 pm Hunting closes at 7:32 pm Temperature 75degrees. Mostly sunny. Wind: N- NW 2-4 mph. I am back behind the barns at Copper for an evening sit. At 5:15 pm, I had a nice big fat doe 50 yards behind me, just west of the valley road. At 5:30 pm, I had a small doe come off the west hill to the south of me about 80 yards away and she headed across the food plot and to the east and up the hill. At 7:03 pm, I had a doe come across the opening 1/3 of the way up the hill to the east of me going from south to north. It may have been the same doe that I saw earlier. At 7:08, a big doe with 2 fawns came in from the east down the hill into the food plot. They stayed about 30 yards away from me. I got down after dark and the does spooked from the food plot. Totals 6 deer. 6 does.

Thursday, September 25, 2025 am Sunrise: 6:54 am Hunting opens at 6:24 am. Temperature 54 degrees. Mostly sunny Wind: N- NE 0-2 mph. First day to hunt this season. Out at Copper Creek with Kyle. I decided to go behind the barn on the north side. The stand got moved about 20 yards to the north and I had a little trouble finding it, but was all set up right at first light. At 7:10 am, I looked up and there was a doe with 2 fawns in the food plot 75 yards to the south of me. They ate in the plot for over an hour. At 8:10 am, I had 2 does come behind me from the NW about 60 yards away heading to the south. They stayed up on the hillside to the east of me. At 9:30 am, I looked across the hill to the east of me and there was a doe on the road half way up the hill heading to the north of me. Totals: 6 deer. 6 does.
