Tuesday, October 13, 2009 a.m.
Tuesday, October 13, 2009 a.m., 26 degrees, partly cloudy, wind 3-5 N-NE mph, sunrise 7:25 a.m. (Hunting opens 6:55 a.m). I stayed at Heidi's last night, but drove down this morning for the hunt. I decided to give the ladder stand a try and was able to sneak into the stand fairly undetected. Unfortunately, once I climbed in there was 1 1/2" of ice and snow on the platform of the stand. I had to make a heck of a lot of noise just trying to clean off the wood. Nevertheless, I was all settled in by 6:40 a.m. At 7:40 a.m., I looked to the south and just on the other side of the empty feeder, I could see 4 does and fawns sneaking from the corn down towards the Ridgeback stand. That was it. Totals: Bob - 4 deer, 4 does.
