Sunday, October 25, 2009 p.m.
Sunday, October 25, 2009 p.m., 46 degrees, mostly cloudy, wind N-NW 5-10 mph, sunset 6:10 p.m. (Hunting closes 6:40 p.m). Taylor decided to return to the seen of the crime and go up to Right Field. Heidi went to the Ladder and Bob went to try his luck at the VAT. We were all settled in for the evening hunt by 4:10 p.m. At 4:15 p.m., Taylor sent me a text and said he could hear some deer moving around in the corn. Nothing came out though. At 5:15 p.m., Taylor had a doe come out of the woods about 75 yards east of him and walk into the corn. At 5:30 p.m., Taylor had two does walk out of the corn in front of him. They hung out for a few minutes and the disappeared into the corn. About 10 minutes later they came out again, circled him and walked down towards Pisa. Heidi saw 2 does and 2 fawns. They came from the west to the south of her and walked through at 15 yards. At 6:25 p.m., Taylor has two does walk up the trail from the west toward him. The went to the NE past center field and down towards the creek bottom. I finally saw some deer. At 6:15 p.m., I had a nubbin walk down the trail from the north. He was very nervous and he cautiously worked his way out into the food plot. There was a decent buck maybe a 6-8 pointer trailing behind him. He just wouldn't come out into the opening. He just stared at Stubby and tried to figure out why he wasn't moving. There was another deer behind him to the NE that was blowing out a warning call. Totals: Bob - 2 deer, 1 buck and 1 nubbin, Taylor - 5 deer, 5 does and fawns, Heidi - 4 deer, 2 does and 2 fawns.
