Saturday, October 2, 2010 am, Sunrise: 7:12 a.m. Opener: 6:42. Temp: 42 degrees, Wind: N 10-15 mph. Mostly cloudy. Wet. We had a light rain last night so the ground is wet and it is tough to hear. Taylor and I were the only ones who got out this morning. Heidi was too worn out to make it out of bed this morning. With a north wind, I decided to give the ladder stand a try. Taylor went to the dump stand. We were both in our stands by 6:25. Taylor said that he kicked up 4-5 deer on the way in to his stand. At 6:55, Taylor had some deer blowing a warning call up in the field to the south of him. They were basically directly down wind of him. At 7:10, Taylor had a deer to the east of him and just out of range. He thinks it must have gone up towards Right Field. At 7:35, Taylor had a small 3 pointer walk by coming from right field. He walked by him 20 yards to the south of him. Taylor was able to get some good video (see attached). At 8:05, Taylor had a doe with a fawn come by him coming from the north heading south about 30 yards away. He was able to bleat at the fawn and bring it back to 25 yards away. Totals: Bob - 0 deer, Taylor - 3 deer, 1 buck and 2 does.
