Saturday, September 20, 2008 a.m. 58 degrees, wind S-SW 2-5 mph, sunrise 6:57 a.m. (Hunting opener 6:27 a.m.) Bob decided to try something new and went to the VAT (Venison Assault Tower) and Nate went down to the apple tree stand. At 6:40 am, I had a deer snorting on the hill to the SE of me. That was it while I was sitting. I hopped down at 8:30 and walked over to the food plot. There were two does feeding and I was able to stalk within 15-20 yards of them before the finally suspected something and took off. Nate didn't see anything from the apple tree. Totals: Bob - 2 does, Nate - 0 deer.
