Sunday, September 25, 2016 pm. Sunset: 7:02 pm. Hunting Closes: 7:32 pm. Temperature: 64 degrees. Mostly cloudy. Wind: W-SW 5-10 mph. I wanted to check the cameras and I wanted to give the apple tree stand a shot. There are not any apples this year, but there are some walnuts. Hopefully, a big boy will come through tonight looking for some carbs. I was all set up by 4:55 pm. At 7:20 pm, I had a big fat doe come down from the west. She basically walked right under my stand. The Ozonics worked great. Totals: 1 deer. 1 doe.

Sunday, September 18, 2016 am Sunrise: 6:54 am. Hunting opens: 6:24 am. Temperature: 54 degrees. Wind: S-SW 5-10 mph. Mostly sunny. This morning, I decided to go back to RF. Dwayne went to the new ladder stand on the east side of the creek stand. Adam went to the sugar shack. On my way in, I kicked up a deer that was almost underneath the stand. It jumped the barbed wire and ran off to the SW. At 7:15 am, I saw a doe that was 200 yards away on the edge of the field. It fed for a few minutes and dropped back into the woods to the west. At 8:55 am, I had 2 Toms come up the hill from the NE. They got to within 10 yards behind me. They jumped around and played for a bit and then walked off to the north. Totals: Bob - 1 deer, 1 doe. Dwayne an Adam - 0 deer.

Saturday, September 17, 2016 am Sunrise 6:53 am. Hunting opens 6:23 am. Temperature: 54 degrees. Mostly sunny. Wind - S-SW 5-10 mph. Opening morning has finally arrived. I decided to head up to Right Field and Dwayne went to Arlie's food plot stand. We were both in and settled by 6:00 am. At 7:05 am, Dwayne had 2 does and 2 fawns come down the hill from the west. They got to about 5 yards, but there were too many eyes to get a shot. At 8:05 am, Dwayne saw a bachelor group of 3 bucks walking together to the NE about 175 yards away. He said the lead buck was decent but the other 2 were small. At 8:30 am, Dwayne saw a small fawn up the hill to the west. At 8:50 am, I had a decent 9-10 pointer sneak in behind me. He came through st 10 yards to the north of me. He ended up heading down the hill to the NW towards Pisa. I did get a little video of him. Totals: Bob 1 deer, 1 decent buck. Dwayne- 8 deer, 3 bucks.

September 1, 2016
Thursday, September 1, 2016. Finally a decent buck on camera. Nothing huge, but something to at least peak my interest. I got another photo of just half of a main beam. See upper left of the one picture. It looks like it might have some potential. A little more then two weeks to go!

Friday, December 18, 2015 - 12:00 pm. I was working from home this day. It was just before noon when Heidi (who was working from home as well) said that she was going to go upstairs and take a shower. A few minutes later, she shouted down that there was a deer that was laying down behind the house about 50 yards down the hill to the NE. I grabbed my binoculars and ran upstairs. When I got there, I could clearly see it was a buck laying on its side. I got dressed and walked down to see how long it had been there. When, I got closer, I could clearly see a open wound high on his back but below the spine. I walked up behind it, and I was about ready to kick it, when it lifted his head and started thrashing. I jumped back as it scare the sh_t ou of me. It was too fatigued to be able to stand up. I ran back up to the house and grabbed my bow. I ran down to him and he just looked at me. His eyes pretty much said, "please end this." I did with one clean arrow. I put my bow tag on him, even though it was not how I wanted to use it. Also, it was a deer that really needed another year to grow. I gutted him out and dragged him back to the shack with the ATV. After we skinned him out, I could clearly see that it was an old arrow wound. I lost about 4-6" of his one tenderloin, other wise the meat was just fine. Crazy day at the office. Picture attached.
