Saturday, October 18, 2014 am. Sunrise: 7:32 am. Hunting opens: 7:02 am. Temperature: 50 degrees. Mostly cloudy. Wind: N-NE 7-10 mph. This morning I took Stubby my deer decoy down to the VAT for the first sit of the year in that stand. I did lay a scent trail of buck urine from the driveway down to the decoy. I was ready to go by 6:40 am. Adam is hunting this morning too and he decided to try the Ladder stand. Adam saw one small deer about 80 yards to the south of him. All I saw was about 25 turkeys. I watched them feed for over an hour and a half. All of them were within 20 yards. I guess I should get a fall turkey tag. Totals:  Bob - 0 deer. Adam: 1 deer.
