Wednesday, December 26, 2012 pm. Sunset: 4:30 pm. Hunting closes 5:00 pm. Temperature: 11 degrees. Wind: N-NW 0-2 mph. Mostly sunny. I decided to head back to the Stump. I had left the Mr Buddy heater there find it sure makes for a more enjoyable sit. I was in position by 3:00 pm. The deer should really come in to feed tonight with it being so cold the past few days. It didn't take long. Two small fawns were the first to come into the good plot. They came in from the SW and fed to within 30 yards of the blind. After about 10 minutes, They ended up spooking back up the hill to the west. At 4:00 pm, a nice doe with two fawns came off the hill to the SW of me. One of the fawns got to 35 yard but the mom stayed out around 40 yards. At 4:05 pm, a doe came through the valley to the SE of me. She stayed out about 50 yards. At 4:20 pm, the deer started to pour out into the food plots. I had 13 does at one time feeding from 25-70 yards away. No shooters were close enough though. They all ended up leaving at 4:50 pm. After shooting light 4 different bucks came out into the field including the nice 2 1/2 year old 8 pointer. Nice night. Totals: Bob - 17 deer, 13 does and fawns and 4 bucks.
