It is never too early to get started on the next hunting season. I have already put in 3 new permanent stands down in Wisconsin at Copper Creek. This weekend, I am heading down to Copper to look for some morel mushrooms. As long as I am there, I hope to put in one more stand, clear some shooting lanes and put in a ladder for the new "rock out" stand.
Back home in Minnesota, I have a couple of new additions. I put in a new two man ladder stand down the ridge from the Ridge back stand. But the newest addition is my Banks Outdoors 4-man stump. Dan helped me put it up last weekend and it was a job. We dug the holes to about 3 1/2 feet and used 16' 4 x 4's. The base of the stand is about 10 feet. It should be sweet!
Now I just need to get the food plots in. I hope to have the area cleared later this summer and the food plots should be put in by the late summer.
Stay tuned for more updates. Good luck to all of you in 2009.
