Tuesday, September 16, 2008, Temp 78 degrees, Wind S/SE 15-20 mph, mostly sunny, Sunset: 7:23 pm (hunting close 7:53 pm)
I went to Arlie's nob. Got to the tree at about 5:20. Nothing for this guy. Bubba was out in the ladder stand. Got in about 5:40. At about 6:30, a spike came through to the north moving from east to west about 30 yards away. At 6:40, Bubba saw one doe to the south moving from east to west. At 6:50, there were 3 deer (1 buck in velvet 6 pointer outside the ears) that stayed behind him. All about 20-25 yards away, but no shot. They stay around and mingled for 10-15 minutes. Right at dark, as Bubba was getting down 4 deer were out in front of him to the NE, too dark to tell what they were. Totals: Bubba: 9 deer - 2 bucks, 3 does , and 4 ?'s. Bob: 0 deer.

Monday, September 15, 2008, Temp 65 degrees, Wind S/SE 5-10 mph, partly cloudy, Sunset: 7:25 pm (hunting close 7:55 pm)
I got home from work today right at 5 pm. The weather has been pretty lousy the past two days. In fact, we got rained out last night. Finally the skies have cleared and it was a beautiful night. I got into the ladder stand about 5:15. At 5:35 a doe and a fawn came through to the south of me about 50 yards away. They the worked back to the east. After about 25 minutes, the same doe with 2 fawns (1 nubbin) came through right under my stand. At 6:15 8 more does and fawns came from the north and passed on the trail about 10 yards away. One actually stayed for about 5 minutes and licked up the "Come Here Deer" that I had poured on a old stump. Pretty cool. Taylor went to right field and kicked up 5 does on the way in. Four of them were on the bridge. Nothing after that except coons. I did see 3 more does that came from behind me, probably the same ones as earlier. Totals for tonight: Bob 12 Does and Fawns, Taylor 0

9-13-08 Bowhunting Opener

September 13, 2007, Temp 55 degrees, Wind E 0-5 mph, overcast and misty, Sunrise 6:49 am (hunting opener 6:19 am) Bob went to the ladder stand. At about 6:55 I had one deer go through to the south of me about 70 yards away. Shortly thereafter, I had 3 deer behind me, but they never came through. Bubba was at the apple tree stand and saw 4 does and 2 fawns. Taylor was in Right field and didn't see anything but had a dog that was nearby that would not stop barking, so he moved down to the food plot. No luck there either.

Attached as some photos from the feeder. The big 11 and the tall 6 pointer have both harden up. There is a small 5-6 pointer that is still in Velvet. I guess my dream of shooting a big one still in Velvet is going to have to wait until next year. Keep you posted. Buckslayer out.

The eve of the opener 9-12-08

Well tomorrow morning can not come soon enough. I think we are all ready for the big day. Hopefully the rain will avoid us. I will be in the ladder stand, Taylor in Right Field and Bubba in the apple tree stand. I will try to post some video and an update tomorrow, so log on and check us out. Here are some photos that were taken earlier this week. Big 11 is still around. I only hope he cooperates tomorrow.

Well we have a few more pictures of the nice bucks. One is a beautiful 11 pointer with a sticker on his left G2. I would guess he will score 140+. There is a of pictures of the tall 6-7 pointer. I think he needs one more year, so I hope he will make it. There is a nice picture of it appears like a "hard horned" 8 and another nice buck in velvet.

We should be able to get a few more decent photos before they harden up. Stay tuned. Only one more week! Hope it stays cool.

Cam Tracker Labor Day

Well, the 2008 season is right around the corner. We have all of the trails cut, the shooting lanes are all cut out, the food plot is growing, a new stand was built and now we have some evidence of a few nice bucks.

Opener

Well for those of you who check regularly; Thanks! I know the 009 guys are looking forward to the 2008 season as I booked my flight today to Minnesota for opener. I am pumped and know that the hard work this winter in keeping the herd well fed with Monster Mix from the co-op should pay dividends in size and racks! (WE HOPE!!!) Well thanks again for supporting us and we look forward to posting and keeping you in the loop. Shootem straight!
