Saturday, September 26, 2020 pm Sunset 7:00 pm Hunting closes 7:30 pm Temperature 72 degrees. Mostly sunny, Wind: S 1-3 mph. Anne took Charley overnight, so both Heidi and I get to hunt tonight. Heidi went to the Apple Tree, and I went to the ladder stand. We had 2 nice shooter bucks fighting this morning at 5:30 by the ladder stand. I hope they come through this evening. We got a later start then I wanted, but we were both set and ready by 5:00 pm. At 5:40 pm, I heard footsteps to the NW of me. I couldn’t tell what it was, but it must of smelled me because it blew and took off to the NW. At 6:35 pm, I had 2 does about 60 yards to the NE of me. They got nervous and took off back to the NE/E towards the X stand. They came back 10 minutes later. They got 20 yards to the north of me, but both were nervous and I couldn’t get drawn without them spooking. At 6:45 pm, Heidi had a doe with 2 fawns come in. Sounds like the same situation with too many eyes on you. At 7:00 pm, Heidi saw a doe out by the Stump blind. At 7:30 pm as Heidi was about to get down a doe came down the trail from the west. It was too late to shoot. Totals: Bob - 3 deer, 2 does and 1? Heidi- 5 deer. 3 doe with 2 fawns.

Saturday. September 19, 2030 pm Sunset 7:13 pm Hunting closes 7:43 pm Temperature 68 degrees. Partly cloudy. Wind: S-SW 10-15 mph. I have been under the weather since my birthday, but I am finally starting to feel better. I slept in this morning, and Heidi gave me the green light to hunt tonight. The wind was perfect, so I headed to the Apple Tree. Heidi was in Stillwater with some friends , but now that Charley is 7, I could leave her a half hour in the house by herself until Heidi got home. I was up and ready to go by 4:40 pm. At 6:15 pm, I heard something to the east of me. Through the Apple tree I could see a nice 2 1/2-3 1/2 year old 8 pointer. At the same time, I looked to the south and there was a small 6 pointer sitting at 10 yards eating apples. The 8 pointer walked right through my shooting lane at 8-10 yards away. They ate apples by the south Apple tree 10 yards from me and then walked off together to the east. It was an awesome encounter. I watched the 2 bucks in the corn and then move to VEE to the beans west of the stump blind. At 7:05 pm, I heard something to the south. It was another 8, an almost twin to the first one. They ended up coming up and sparing about 10-15 yards away from me. They messed around for 15 minutes and ended up heading up the trail to the west. At 7:30 pm, I looked to the south and saw a big 10 pointer about 80 yards to the south of me down in the food plot. He went to the south. At 7:35 pm, 2 does came into the food plot about 90 yards to the SE of me. Totals: 6 deer. 4 Bucks. A 10
Pointer, Two 8’s and a 6 pointer.
