Saturday, November 16, 2024 am Sunrise 6:59 am Hunting opens at 6:29 am. Temperature 41 degrees Wind: E- SE 5-10 mph. Mostly cloudy. This morning I decided to give the Sue’s Lookout another shot. The wind is not ideal, but I will only be hunting until 11:00 am, so I can get back because we are going to Madison for the Badgers versus Oregon football game. At 10:05 am, Steve had gotten down from the river view stand and on his way out through the east valley, he kicked up a small 8 point buck to me. He came off the hill from the NE about 50 yards to the north of me. He then head across the hill to the north. That was it. Totals: Bob 1 deer. 1 buck.

Saturday, November 9, 2024 am Sunrise 6:51 am Hunting opens at 6:21 am. Temperature 38degrees Wind: E- SE 5-10 mph. Mostly sunny. This morning I decided to give the Sue’s Lookout another shot. The wind is not ideal, but I will only be hunting until 10:00 am, so I can get back home for Charley’s hockey game. At 7:10 am, I heard a grunt to the north of me. I grunted a few times and a couple of minutes later a 2 1/2 year old 8 pointer came walking in. He came to within 10 yards and hung around for 10 minutes. I got some great video. At 7:20 am, I heard something to the north of me and a small 6 pointer was standing 15 yards to the north of me. He hung around for almost 30 minutes within 50 yards of me. At 9:30 am, I had a basket 8 come in from the north. He walked across down to the SW about 40 yards away. I sat until 10:00 am. Fun morning. Total. 3 deer, 3 bucks.

Friday, November 8, 2024 am Sunrise 6:49 am Hunting opens at 6:19 am. Temperature 38degrees. Sunset 4:46 pm. Hunting closes at 5:16 pm. Wind: W- NW 3-5 mph. Mostly sunny. This morning I decided to give the new ladder water hole stand on the north side where the old platform stand was. At 6:35 am, I caught a glimpse of a deer that was north of me about 125 yards away. I am not sure what it was. At 11:00 am, I looked over my shoulder to the north and there was a big doe 125 yards out on the road heading south. She ended up heading down into the woods to the SE. I got down at 11:20 pm went inside and grabbed some lunch and headed back out at 1:20 pm. In the afternoon, I decided to give Sue’s Lookout a try up by the garage on the north side on top I had to trim a few shooting lanes, but it didn’t take long. At 2:05 pm, I had a really mature tall and thick 8 pointer walk by below me at 42 yards going from south to north. I tried grunting to him be he just kept slowing walking. At 3:05 pm, I had another big buck chasing a dies about 80 yards down the hill going from south to north. That was it. Totals: 5 deer. 3 does and 2 shooter bucks.

Thursday , November 7, 2024 am Sunrise 6:47 am Hunting opens at 6:17 am. Temperature 42 degrees. Sunset 4:47 pm. Hunting closes at 5:17 pm. Wind: N-NW 3-5 mph. Mostly sunny. This morning I decided to give the Money Stand behind the barns another shot. I brought Fuzzy and set him up about 20 yards to the west of me we will see if he can draw some interest. At 6:44 am, a small nubbin buck came down the valley from the west. He got to within 10 yards of Fuzzy. He was curious, but never spooked. He hung around for a few minutes and slowly fed off to the south of me. At 7:40 am, I looked behind me to the SE and I had a nice buck on the road heading to the north of me. I grunted to him as he stopped and saw Fuzzy. He then turned and trotted up to the east. I took a 2 hour break to get some work done from 11:00-1:00, and then headed back out to the Money Stand. Wind were swirling until about 4:15 pm and then the died down. At 4:50 pm, I had 2 does and a small buck came in from the east. The 2 does ended up coming up by me and hung around for 30 minutes. The buck stayed on the other side of the valley and headed back to the east. That was it. Totals: 5 deer. 2 bucks and 3 does.

Wednesday, November 6, 2024 Sunset 4:48 pm. Hunting closes at 5:18 pm. Temperature 46 degrees Wind: N-NW 5-10 mph. Mostly cloudy. After not seeing anything this morning, I decided to head in and regroup and try something else. I went looking for the new Key West stand, but I was not able to find it. I decided to back out and go to Gunners Gultch. I brought fuzzy and put him out about 20 yards to the south of me. At 4:35 pm, I had a doe sneak in from the west to about 50 yards. She must have seen Harry, because she spooked back up to the NW. That was it. Totals: 1 deer. 1 doe.

Tuesday, November 5, 2024 am Sunset 4:49 pm. Hunting closes at 5:19 pm. Temperature 49 degrees Wind: S-SW 5-10 mph. Mostly cloudy. Raining. I drove back down from Cannon Falls today. I got to Copper around 1:30 pm. Kyle arrived around lunchtime. Because it was raining, he went to the Ballagio and I went to the Stump blind in the Blue Bird field. I was ready to go by 2:00 pm. It is not ideal conditions, but the blinds make it tolerable. At 5:08 pm, I had a small 6-7 pointer buck come down the hill from the south. He ran down to my fuzzy decoy. He did like what he saw and he blew and headed back up to the south of me. That was it. Totals: 1 deer. 1 small buck.

Saturday, November 2, 2024 am Sunrise 7:41 am Hunting opens at 7:11 am. Sunset 5:53 pm. Hunting closes at 6:23 pm. Temperature 42 degrees Wind: S-SW 5-10 mph. Mostly sunny. I decided to give the the Hydration Nation stand a try this morning. At 10:45 am, I had a doe and a nubbin buck sneak in from the south behind me. They slowly worked their way down the hill towards the NE. They got to about 40 yards and bedded down. At 12:30, I got down and moved to Double D. At 4:25 pm, I heard something above me to the west. A small doe came down the hill going from west to east. Then 2 more came down the hill behind her. I was hoping a buck was following them. They got to the north of me and stopped. They sniffed around for a while and the headed back up the hill to the NW. At 4:55 pm, I heard something behind me and saw a doe down towards the valley going from north to south. That was it. Totals: 6 deer. 6 does and fawns.
